Polls Show America Isn’t Done Punishing Democrats

You read yesterday that blue states face a grim future as hardworking Americans move away to find a better America in places like Texas and Florida. They are moving to places where their money is well treated, and politicians put the needs of residents ahead of their own political agendas.

The 2024 election was a rebuke to the Democratic Party, which has ignored the Forgotten Men and Women of America for far too long, and judging by current polls, it appears that Americans may not be finished doling out their punishment. Even Democrats are upset with their own party. Politico’s Lakshya Jain explains that Democratic voters disapprove of their own party for the first time in history. She writes:

Congressional Democrats have typically enjoyed higher popularity with their voting base than their Republican counterparts. But the trauma of the 2024 presidential election defeat appears to have ruptured that relationship. A review of Quinnipiac University’s annual first-quarter congressional polling reveals that, for the first time in the poll’s history, congressional Democrats are now underwater with their own voters in approval ratings.

And Emily Hallas explains at The Washington Examiner that the GOP is widening its lead over Democrats. She writes:

At the end of January, a Quinnipiac University poll had MAGA swaggering as the GOP took its largest-ever advantage over Democrats in favorability ratings. As Democrats shed support, particularly from male and Hispanic voters, another CNN poll earlier this month put the party’s favorability rating at a record low of 29%.

In 2024, Americans soundly rejected the radical wing of the Democratic Party, but that wing seems to be driving the bus at the moment. If the radicals primary the more moderate Democrats and run an even louder version of the 2024 campaign, the Democratic Party could land itself in trouble it can’t dig out of for years.
