Stocks Still Aren’t Cheap

By Dilok @ Adobe Stock

Even with the recent pullback in stocks, they’re not exactly cheap. Which is why owning a stock portfolio that pays above-average dividends continues to make sense to Your Survival Guy. I want you to be paid in this market, and if you don’t need the income, reinvest in shares on sale. The S&P 500 cyclically adjusted total return P/E ratio from Shiller is still at 35.5, which is not exactly bargain bin pricing.

In my conversations with you, you tell me about the conversations you’re having with others about the “market.” “I have a guy,” you tell them, and they ask what “your guy is doing.” You tell them he understands bonds, likes dividend-paying stocks, and gold, among other things.

Action Line: When you have a guy who can watch your portfolio, you can focus on your retirement life. You don’t have to be glued to the TV or computer screen, wondering which way markets will turn next. That’s my job. When you want to talk about your portfolio, email me at ejsmith@yoursurvivalguy.com. And click here to subscribe to my free monthly Survive & Thrive letter. My most recent letter talks about bonds, when to buy and sell, and gold miners.
