Retirement, Gold, and Your Most Precious Commodity

By ABIDZAR ALFAREZ @ Adobe Stock

Time is your most precious commodity. Something we realize in different ways. Like cramming for an exam the night before. Where did the time go?

In your retirement life it feels the same. It feels like there’s not enough time. There isn’t time for every trip you want to take, all the family visits you want to make, or the book clubs you want to join (sorry, you don’t have time for another book club). Everyone is trying to cram it all in. And who’s going to help pay for it all?

Have you heard of Your Survival Guy?

Look, I don’t want to toot my own horn, but worrying about money should not be one of your problems. I know what it’s like to manage a retirement because I’ve been through hundreds of them. It’s straightforward, but it’s hard to do. When done right, it turns out to be a lot of fun because you can sleep well at night.

Sleeping can be tough right now with all the excitement. I can hardly wait until morning to see what happens next. You know I like gold, but I’ve always liked gold. Gold is one of those investments you have for times like these, but you mostly want it to go down (not too far) because that means the mood is calmer.

Anyway, you have a job to do. You work to save money. You invest to keep it. And now you need to spend it. To enjoy it. Stuff isn’t getting cheaper, and the croissants at Le Bristol are still Your Survival Guy’s favorite in all of Paris. Go find your perfect bite. The most precious commodity, time, is running out.
